| Develop the arts as an economic resource. South Lincoln County has arts and cultural activities that support our tourism industry, attract retirees, and inspire our children. One strategy would be recruiting and helping to expand graphic arts businesses, such as computer animation businesses aimed at national and global multimedia markets. The work of talented Pacific Northwest artists should also be marketed to the rest of world, not just to local residents and visitors, through the Internet and other national and international marketing opportunities. |

Strategy 2.1 Work with the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA) to expand training and marketing

Our thriving arts community is a resource that can be used to improve the local economy. Helping local artists reach national and international markets through the Internet and developing local talent to meet new market opportunities, including computer animation business opportunities, should boost the local economy as well as the artists. An active local chapter of OCCA could bolster arts offerings in South County–from visual to performing arts.
